Participants

More than 50 highly qualified applicants around the nation applied to the first year of the TAMU World Languages Teacher Academy. Through a competitive review process, 16 applicants were selected to participate in the rigorous three-month professional development program. While the majority of the participants are in the field of education, we also have participants with backgrounds in engineering, urban planning, and art history. The diverse backgrounds of our participants were truly a valuable asset to our program and allowed us to critically examine together how to create a well-rounded curriculum that fully integrated STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) with world language education.

With additional funding, we look forward to recruiting the next cohort of participants in the TAMU World Languages Teacher Academy!
